Holy Land from Gatwick

Day 1

Depart for the flight to the Holy Land, on arrival at Tel Aviv Airport, we will be met by the Christian guide who will accompany us to Bethlehem, check in to the hotel for dinner and 5 nights stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, we start the day at the Nativity Church, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, Mass will be celebrated in one of the Basilicas, after Mass visit the Grotto of St. Jerome and Milk Grotto. We then visit Beit Sahour to see the Shepherd’s Field. In the afternoon, visit Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist to visit the church that commemorates his memory and the Visitation Church. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

After breakfast we travel to the top of Mount of Olives, visit the Chapel of the Ascension and Pater Noster Church where Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer to his disciples, enjoy the panoramic view of the old city of Jerusalem, we walk down Palm Sunday route to reach Dominus Flevit Church where Jesus wept over the fate of Jerusalem. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. We then visit the Western Wall and Mount Zion, visit the upper room where Jesus had his Last Supper with the Disciples, Tomb of King David and Church of Dormition, then walk to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, the house of Caiaphas where Jesus was held for a night after he was arrested from the Garden. We go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Mass is celebrated during the day.

Day 4

After breakfast travel to Jerusalem, visit St Anne’s Church where the parents of the Virgin Mary lived, we see the Pool of Bethesda before walking the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa, to reach the most sacred place for Christians, "The Church of the Holy Sepulcher", we see the Golgotha and the tomb of our Lord. In the afternoon we travel to Bethany for Mass, this is where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.

Day 5

Today we proceed through the Judean Wilderness to ancient Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world, we celebrate Mass on arrival in the Good Shepherd Church. From the top of the ancient "Tel" you will enjoy a beautiful view of Elisha’s fountain, the Mount of Temptation and later the Sycamore Tree. Drive to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found visit the Dead Sea before returning to the Hotel for dinner.

Day 6

After breakfast check out of the hotel for the journey north to Galilee, along the way we visit the River Jordan for Mass, you can also renew your Baptismal promise. We visit Mount Tabor the place of the Transfiguration of Jesus, before reaching Tiberias where we check in to our hotel for 2 nights stay.

Day 7

After breakfast we start the day by enjoying a scenic boat ride across the Sea of Galilee, we continue on to Capernaum; the home of our Lord during his ministry, visit the synagogue. Drive to the site of multiplication of loaves and fish "Tabgha", continue on to visit the Church of St. Peter’s Primacy. We visit the Mount of Beatitudes for Mass, the scene of Jesus’ great Sermon on the Mount. Dinner will be taken in the hotel

Day 8

This morning we visit the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, we then visit Cana for Mass and renewal of Marriage Vows for those that wish. From here we travel to the airport in Tel Aviv to join the flight back to the UK.
